DEDICATED TEAM INCLUDES GLOBAL EXPERTS AT THE FOREFRONT OF DIGITAL UNIVERSE DESIGN

12 APRIL 2021 (TORONTO, ON) – Dark Slope Studios today announces its formal expansion into metaverse development. The Toronto based virtual production studio, which has already established a reputation as a leading producer of location based entertainment, is broadening its areas of expertise with the hiring of global experts at the forefront of digital universe design.

Still a relatively new platform, metaverse is a portmanteau of the prefix ‘meta’, defined as ‘beyond’, and ‘universe.’ Dark Slope Studios’ dedicated team will serve to formalize and elevate the development of persistent and shared virtual spaces that interact with the real world. In these spaces people can engage in social, cultural and even economic activities.

To support this growth Dark Slope Studios is pleased to announce the appointment of: Roberto Schiavulli in the role of Senior Product Owner Metaverse Platform, Stephen Bosco in the role of Technical Art Director and Ole Alfheim in the role of Game Designer.

Prior to joining the company Roberto worked at the AAA game development studio Riot Games and was a key player in the success of League of Legends often cited as the world’s largest esport experience, as well as Valorant, the renowned tactical hero shooter game. Roberto has a vast range of experience including player support, event management and publicity in addition to his primary role of product management.

Stephen Bosco, previously the Art Director at the Emmy Award winning virtual reality studio, Secret Location (an eOne Company) has been working with Dark Slope as a Technical Art Director. In this role Stephen brings both his multidisciplinary background in creative technology and in depth knowledge of spatialized multiplayer/location based VR experiences to the Dark Slope Studios team.

Lastly, Ole Alfheim brings a decade’s worth of international design experience for games, apps and virtual reality to his new role as game designer. Ole has previously led game development teams, UX app design and has extensive experience developing original ip for games, linear television and virtual reality in Norway, Australia and the U.K.

“We are thrilled with the caliber of international experts joining our growing team. Dark Slope Studios has always tested the boundary between our physical reality and the digital universe. The hiring of a dedicated team is a decisive step in formalising our metaverse development efforts. I can’t wait to reveal some incredible new projects over the coming months. ” Dan Fill, President, Dark Slope Studios.
